By and large, the Faafu Atoll is unpopulated but the incredible marine life here more than makes up for the lack of human beings. Yes, it’s a fantastic place to spot marine fauna. The crystal-clear waters and the milky-white sands bring alive the phrase, ‘a thing of beauty is a joy forever’. It’s one of the best places to experience the joy of nature’s beauty.

The atoll also has some hidden sightseeing gems. At Nilandhoo, the capital and one of the few inhabited islands, spend some lovely moments exploring Buddhist remains, including a stupa. Yet another fine attraction is the Aasaari Miskiy, the second mosque to be built in the Maldives. There are a couple of other mosques too with their own interesting stories...
