The Garden of Dreams, situated in the heart of Kathmandu city, Nepal is a true surprise. As you walk down the cobbled pathways, you find yourself in a beautiful neo-classical historical garden. Created to pay homage to Nepal's six seasons, it was built by built by Late Field Marshal Kaiser in the early 1920s. After the completion of this garden, it was considered as one of the most sophisticated private gardens of that time. It is still the prettiest in the city.

As you stroll through the pathways in the garden, soaking in the charm of the serene lush greenery, you come across an exquisite ensemble of pavilions, fountains, and European-inspired features such as verandas, pergolas, balustrades, urns and birdhouses. Though, only a half of the garden is open to the public today, it is still extremely atmospheric and makes for a perfect fairy tale-like setting for a delightful afternoon tea with cake at the Kaiser Cafe.
Also, not just any tea, but flavourful and deliciously refreshing ginger tea. Pair it with delicate cucumber sandwiches and rich chocolate cake, and voila, you have the recipe for a perfect afternoon.
