It is said that Mahatma Gandhi himself spent the last 144 days of his life in this place, before being assassinated by Nathuram Godse in a public presence. Being originally the home of Birla industrial family, this place is now a proud museum where belongings and memories from Gandhi’s life have been kept on exhibition.
Established in 2005, this museum is now a full on multimedia exhibit, frequented by travellers from across the globe. Owned by Ghanshyam Das Birla, this land was purchased by government of India and then converted into the museum.
